The dining room hasan original period dresser and period features throughout. The dresser is decorated with the customary willow pattern china and horsebrasses adorn the mantle area. The area has open beamed ceilings and period surround around the fireplace.The dining room leads to the kitchen area, and the living area.
The Living Area
The main room has many character period features – open beamed ceilings and original focal fire surrounds with slate hearths, window seat and views to the garden. The living area has two leather sofas and a recliner chair with a large screen TV including both a video and DVD player and freeview. The Dining area has seating for five people and has a fireplace with an electric log burning effect fire and original Victorian surround. There are also books for our guests to enjoy in the bookcase.
The Kitchen
The large character kitchen has under counter cupboards and has its original slopping beam ceiling and comprises of an electric hob and built in oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and a separate fridge and freezer. The back door opens to the outside courtyard which is also part of the property.
The Bedrooms (First Floor)
The cottage comprises of three bedrooms, one master, one twin and a single. The master and twin both have views to the lighthouse, and sea and peep out under the thatched eves, all have window seats.
The double bedroom consists of a double bed, with original fitted wardrobe and period chest of drawers with side units each side of the bed. The bedroom has lovely views across the garden, to the open fields and to the sea
The twin room consists of two single beds with a wardrobe and chest of drawers and matching side units.
The Single room has a sloping ceiling and overlooks the courtyard (which is also part of the cottage). It comprises of a period single bed and pine tallboy and side unit.
The Bathroom/WC (up the stairs and down the stairs to the ground floor)
The bathroom of the property consists of a bath and separate shower cubicle and a washbasin. A separate toilet room with its own washbasin is located next to the bathroom.
The Gardens
The front garden is enclosed and laid to grass with cottage boarders of roses, and all manner of cottage flowers with raised front beds The front of the house is decorated with wisteria, roses and a grape vine. There is a cobbled path leading across the front of the property and the left of the cottage is a wooden seating area There is also a table and chairs for guests, to dine outside and enjoy the gardens and relax with a glass of wine, etc with parasol. There is also a small back garden with a rotary washing line and a courtyard directly outside the kitchen door, overlooked by a barn. There is a picnic table situated in the courtyard with a a garden area also.
Children
We welcome children to the cottage, and there are toys free of charge, such as a garden slide etc. For smaller children if you email you needs then we will try to accommodate. The front garden is enclosed with a gate, and the seating area means you can watch the children. There are numerous beaches surrounding the Lizard Village and on the Lizard peninsula that they will enjoy. Also there are many local attractions such as Flambards/The National Seal Sanctuary/Paradise Park, St Michaels's Mount all within 1 hours driving distance. (See attractions page)
Dogs
We welcome well behaved dogs and their owners. There is a ban on dogs for some beaches in the area between Easter to 31 October each year.
