Little Trenoweth

The Most Southerly Thatched Grade II  Listed Cottage in England.

Little Trenoweth has a chocolate box charm and character, and is over 300 years old. It is the most southerly thatched Grade II Listed cottage in England. With cob walls and wood beamed ceilings, plus wonderful gardens, the property has loads of character and is steeped in history. The beams of the cottage are reputed to be from the many shipwrecks that have met their fate on the Lizard Peninsula.

It has exceptional views of the Lizard lighthouse to the busy shipping channels off the Lizard point. The cottage has idyllic gardens both front and back and a private courtyard, for our guests to enjoy. The cottage is situated, a 10 minutes' walk from England's most southerly point, and is conveniently situated in the main Lizard village.

Little Trenoweth is the perfect base for long walks in and around this beautiful and remote peninsular. You can enjoy the stunning scenery (designated an area of outstanding beauty). Some of the most picturesque coves and beaches in the south west including Kennack Sands, Church Cove, Mullion Cove, Poldhu Cove and Kynance Cove can be found. A collection of attractions in the area are also well worth a visit including the National Seal Sanctuary, The Minack Theatre, Flambards Theme Park and St Michael’s Mount.

If you like outdoor pursuits there is horse riding, sea kayaking, surfing schools, fishing and golf all within a short distance on or around the Lizard. If your interest is flora and fauna there are lovely gardens to visit such as Trelissick, Eden Project, and Trebah to name a few.

The cottage has everything needed for a comfortable and cosy stay and is both nicely furnished and decorated with modern conveniences, whilst maintaining its period features. With a garden that's truly delightful especially when the plants are in bloom. When the sun is out this is a lovely place, listening to the birds singing and the bees buzzing around the herbaceous borders.
